Allow your firstborn to breathe” Singer, Simi urges parents, cautions them against responsibility

In the African folk and culture mostly directed toward the Nigerian tradition, firstborns are favourably known as the head of the family after parents thereby embodying the responsibility to take care of the family if the mother and father couldn’t attain such feat.

They are mostly pushed to the reputation of digesting that they must embody the responsibility of the family and their siblings.
Taking to her social media handle, Simi trashed the reputation and urged families to drop such ideology describing that firstborns are not meant to embody the responsibilities of the family.
Her words:
“Y’all need to let your first borns breathe. They came first does not mean they should carry everybody’s load. Many of them don’t even like you anymore , because when you text them na so so panic attack. They’re just not allowed to say it. Let them breathe.”
“Also, first born sef learn how to say no and set boundaries. You deserve peace too.”
Nigerians joined in the conversation and deployed their views according to their feelings
