On Saturday, February 10, 2024, there will be a six-hour complete blackout in certain parts of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), according to a statement made by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

The TCN stated in a statement released on Friday by Ndidi Mbah, its spokeswoman, that the purpose of the blackout is to allow the maintenance team of the commission to do a planned yearly preventive maintenance on its 132kV line 1 at the Gwagwalada and Apo Transmission Substations.
