Being a Nigerian is “tough,” according to Grammy-winning singer Temilade Openiyi, better known by her stage name Tems. She did, however, add that, despite the challenges, there is a benefit to being a Nigerian if one uses their gift and brings it to an audience that will value it.
She called being a woman of Nigerian descent “a miracle.”
“Being a Nigerian woman is a miracle,” declared the Oscar-nominated diva in a recent interview with Kiss FM in London, United Kingdom. Because it’s difficult for anyone to be a Nigerian. However, I believe it is an honor if you can use your talents, embrace who you are, and go out into the world doing so without apology.Nigerian ladies, in my opinion, are the luckiest. I refuse to!
