According to NAN, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Mubi North, Mr. Ahijo Mujeli, was kidnapped, and the Police Command in Adamawa verified this on Wednesday.
The DPO was kidnapped by gunmen on Tuesday night along the Mubi-Maraba route, according to the command’s spokesman, DSP Suleiman Yahaya, who verified this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.
Around 630 p.m., he was taken while traveling in his personal vehicle along the Mubi-Maraba route close to the toll booth.
Shots were fired in the vicinity. He claimed, “Our men found an empty automobile identifiable as his when they arrived.
Yahaya went on to say that the Inspector General of Police’s (I-G) anti-kidnapping squad and Intelligence Response Team (IRT) had taken immediate action and were pursuing the alleged kidnappers.
“We’re hoping for a good outcome, and I want to take this chance to tell the public that if they have any pertinent security information about criminals, they should use it to get the command to take the appropriate action,” Yahaya stated.
