Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Commandant for Bayelsa, Mr. Godwin Nwachukwu, announced on Sunday that the command had detained thirty people between January and April on suspicion of a variety of offenses.

Nwachukwu informed Yenagoa sources that the suspects were detained on charges of stealing oil, damaging pipelines, and diverting refined goods.

The commandant stated that the offenders will face charges if investigations into the alleged offenses were completed.

Six trucks loaded with illegally processed petroleum products were seized, he claimed, as a result of the command’s clampdown on the supply chain.

Nwachukwu stated that despite this, the command had made sure that there was less sabotage and pipeline vandalism on oil infrastructure within its operational region.
