A group identifying itself as Anambra State’s Forum of Labour Party 2023 House of Assembly Candidates has blasted Governor Charles Soludo for destroying newspapers on newsstands in the state capital, Awka.

Authorities from the Awka Capital Territory Development Agency, an organization tasked with the city’s development, cracked down on newspaper vendors, confiscating and demolishing their goods.

The LP forum denounced the act and called it autocratic in a statement signed by Humphrey Iloh, the group’s spokesperson.

The group also brought up the death of a drug dealer in the state and demanded that the government lead by Soludo stop intimidating and dehumanizing the people.

The total condemnation of these two terrible and unfortunate acts by the Prof. Soludo-led Government, together with other earlier actions, is expressed by us, the members of the Forum of Labour Party 2023 House of Assembly Candidates. It is evident from these actions that Anambra State is currently governed by a dictatorial dictatorship.

“The Anambra State that the previous governments left for Prof. Chukwuma Soludo was not the amiable and tranquil Anambra of today.

The Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 Constitution states in Section 14(2)(b) that the security and welfare of the people should be the principal goals of government. His current style of governing is completely at odds with this provision.
