Abeokuta and other major cities in Ogun state were shut down by ENDSARS demonstrators, paralyzing commercial activity in the state while the protesters continued their rally against police brutality nationwide.
In addition, well-known hip-hop artist Kizz Daniel and seasoned Nollywood actor Yemi Sodimu joined thousands of demonstrators in the capital city of Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Friday.
As early as six in the morning, the enraged teenagers in Abeokuta, the state capital, besieged key locations and stopped the free flow of vehicles through the area.
The well-known NNPC underpass that leads to Okemosan and Kuto was entirely closed off as young protestors took over the street and began shouting patriotic songs.
The demonstrators also overran Panseke in Abeokuta, Sagamu, Sango – Ota, and Ijebu – Ode. Among the statements on their banners were “iPhone no be gun,” “SARS Na Fraudster#EndSARS,” “No More Audio Ban,” “Say No to Police Brutality,” and “Our voices must be heard.”
“What we are seeing today and indeed for the past few days is the result of not paying attention to a young generation,” legendary Nollywood actor Yemi Sodimu stated in an interview with newsmen.
