Alabareports learned that a man identified as Abdulasisi Isa was shot and killed during a fight in the Surulere Local Government Area of the state on Monday, adding a new twist to the crisis roiling the state’s local government administration over who is the rightful occupant of local government Secretariats.
The victim was slain during a fight between Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) members about who is the legitimate chairman of the local government area.
Alabareports learned that there have been isolated incidents of violence among Chairmen’s supporters.
Later, Makinde replaced the fired chairs with caretaker committees.
Since the dismissed Chairmen attempted to return to their separate posts on Monday, the members of the Caretaker committees and the dismissed Chairmen have been at odds with each other.
But when Mr. Isa was assassinated in the Surulere local government region on Monday, the scandal that was roiling the local government administration took on a new dimension.
However, the state’s police announced that Somefun had been taken into custody and was assisting the command with its investigation at the time.
Isa was shot, according to State Police Command Public Relations Officer Mr. Olugbega Fadeyi, who also confirmed the death. Isa was pronounced dead on Monday at the Bowen University Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso.
The crowd outside continued to fire at the cars, injuring one Dotun Somefun “m,” the occupant of the Acura, who was receiving medical attention from his group at an Ogbomoso hospital.
“DC CID is looking into the matter, and he is currently in police custody helping the police with their investigation.”
