Tension arose at the Aladja Community in the Udu Local Government Area of Delta State as a result of Obaro Matthew Jagogo, a former youth leader, disrupting an All Progressives Congress Party (PDP) event at Ward 10.
Jagogo was allegedly owed four hundred thousand naira by the thugs that disrupted the event.
They hauled down canopies and put Jagogo into a waiting car after telling the assembled mass of guests that they were there only for him.
They drove the DJ away as well.
For reasons best known to him prior to the incident, Comrade Jagogo had planned the event with the goal of defecting from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress.
Mr. Abeyi Lucky, the APC Ward 10 Chairman of the Aladja community, who was present and boarding a commercial motorcycle in support of Jagogo, responded, “It’s just a scene we did not expect,” when asked for comments.
There were worries at the time of this report that the incident could lead to a conflict in the community between the opposition and the APC.
