Magaji Haruna Zaure, the chief of the hamlet, and his three children were killed by bandits who stormed Kukar Babangida town in Jibia local government area of Katsina state.
According to a resident who talked to Daily Trust under anonymity, the attack started at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, and claimed the lives of eight more persons.

“Two were watchmen for a company called Tinna Tech, and three were killed in the same house as the village’s son, Idris Haruna. According to the report, the terrorists shot and killed one of the watchmen and shot the other with a gun.

“They have also set fire to one of the company’s trucks and another gulf car.”

He claimed that the terrorists’ convergence in the villages of Taka-Tsaba and Yargeza around 5 p.m. on Wednesday revealed the planned attack. Security personnel were notified, but sadly, not much was done to avert the unpleasant catastrophe.

“The security agents informed us that in the event of an attack, there would be sufficient security reinforcement; yet, regrettably, the bandits continued their operations unopposed for several hours. After the attackers had fled, only an operation vehicle arrived, he claimed.
