A suspected burglar was detained by Bayelsa State Volunteers agents in Yenagoa, the state capital, after they said he stole an HP laptop from Agudama-Epie.
The suspect, named as Richard Olopele, is 24 years old and resides in Agudama but is from the Arogbo Community in Ondo State.
After being detained on Thursday, April 13, 2023, the suspect confessed that he had broken into Engr. Lambert Miebi’s residence in Agudama-Epie while pretending to be looking for his friend, a relative of Lambert.
Further questioning revealed that he had sold the laptop for the amount of 12,000 naira, and the purchaser was apparently detained.
The Anti-Cultism Unit of the Nigerian Police Force’s Bayelsa State Command has subsequently received the suspect for further investigation.
